The Arab peoples, who populated these lands for over seven centuries, decided to name the Túria, the river that flows into Valencia, as Wadi al-abyad (White river) due to its white stone. This is the colour of Girona river throughout most of the year, along with the rest of the Mediterranean rivers due to their geography and climate. Stones chiseled by friction of the water that descends from the mountains next to the sea. The inevitable contact of the water in that path shared with stones is the best metaphor of the Mediterranean. An approachable place where the weather, the people and the cuisine take shape when enjoyed and shared collectively.
